I'm generally shooting a Canon 7D with a 100-400mm lens. The perpetual challenge is in getting extremely sharp images using a lens as slow as this, but with good available light you can get some nice shots. I live in an area with great access to water birds, so you will see quite a few shots from areas like the Baylands Nature Preserve in Palo Alto, CA.
